Hey! My name is Daniélle Krige and I am a mental health occupational therapist based at Akeso Kenilworth Clinic.
My passion for mental health grew at my first job after community service, as an occupational therapist for CL Stander & Associates, based at Vista Clinic in Centurion. During the two years working at Vista Clinic, I gained experience providing group therapy as well as individual therapy for patients with various psychiatric diagnoses.
I absolutely loved my job, but missed Cape Town and my family, so in January 2020 (yes just before Covid lockdown!) I started working at Harmony Addictions & Psychiatric Care. There my passion for addiction counselling grew and I realised that I have a passion for neurodiversity and empowering others. I also provided group therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy skills training at Harmony, where I worked for three and a half years.
In 2023 I started working at Akeso Kenilworth Clinic, where I am currently working in the dual diagnosis unit. Here I continue to live out my passion, providing group therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy as well as individual therapy.
I started my private practice in 2022, where I provide therapy after hours- from 17h00-19h00, online or in-person.
Sunflowers soon became part of my brand as they always turn to face the sun and I hope to provide the same sense of hope that they signify.
